My bestfriend and I like the same guy, how do I stop liking him?

Hello! So my best friend introduced me to her friend whom I started texting a lot with and now I think I've developed a bit of feelings toward him. My best friend had told me that she wasn't sure if she liked him, but after all of us hanging out, she told me in the car that she really had feelings for him. She has asked me a couple of times if I liked him, and for her sake I say no. We both would back down if we knew the other liked him, so I don't want to take that happiness from her. But since I do have feelings, every time she gushes about him and what they talk about, it hurts. So how do I get over that? I know it's just with time, but is there any more advice other people have? Maybe someone has been through the same situation.. I don't want to go for him, I value her a lot, but he is a sweet guy and I just feel sad every time she tells me about him. It's very bittersweet, I'm happy for her too.
